Gore: Vast Rightwing Conspiracy

As I was working my way through the news stories today this one hit me with a realization: the Left's model of attack is pretty simple. All they really can claim at pretty much any given time is the Vast Rightwing Conspiracy.

Research aimed at disputing the scientific consensus on global warming is part of a huge public misinformation campaign funded by some of the world's largest carbon polluters, former Vice President Al Gore said Tuesday.

"There has been an organized campaign, financed to the tune of about $10 million a year from some of the largest carbon polluters, to create the impression that there is disagreement in the scientific community," Gore said at a forum in Singapore. "In actuality, there is very little disagreement."
Furthermore, I find it interesting that Gore is accusing certain "large carbon polluters" (read: ExxonMobil, Shell, etc) of doing precisely what he does with data. Clear cut case of projection?

Note also the use of the phrase "carbon polluters". Not CO2 emissions. Gore's rhetoric game aims at pounding the idea into your head that carbon is a polluter. I'm glad he chose that phrase to use because carbon pollution is a ridiculous concept. I'm carbon. You're carbon. Everything we eat is carbon. We breathe out carbon. Most everything we touch, use, see each day has large amounts of carbon.

He may as well call people "matter users".
