Pentagon lays it out

The Pentagon says what Republicans have been saying all along: liberal defeatism is akin to enemy propaganda.

"Premature and public discussion of the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq reinforces enemy propaganda that the United States will abandon its allies in Iraq, much as we are perceived to have done in Vietnam, Lebanon and Somalia," Edelman wrote.

He added that "such talk understandably unnerves the very same Iraqi allies we are asking to assume enormous personal risks."

"If we're not planning for it, it will be difficult to execute it in a safe and efficacious way," [Hillary Clinton] said then.
It should be noted that she didn't really answer the accusation. Edelman didn't suggest that we not plan; in fact, I am very sure that the Pentagon has all sorts of contingency plans, many of which would have great amounts of diplomatic and public repercussions should they be made public. He said that her talk was anti-American and undermines our efforts in Iraq.

Its a brilliantly worded statement that can't be truly answered by the left because its true.
