Air America: Bankrupt

Looks like Air America doesn't have a people's mandate:

Air America Radio filed for bankruptcy reorganization Friday, in the latest patch of turbulence to befall the liberal talk radio network that launched two years ago headlined by the comedian and author Al Franken.

The network will continue to operate with funding from its investor group, led by RealNetworks Inc. CEO Robert Glaser, who owns 36.7 percent of the company, and two other former board members.

Air America is a great radio station. But it's downfall is because of Al Franken himself. I love the guy and I think he'd make a great politician, but he's just not entertaining to normal folk. You have to have that certain brand of sarcastic humor to be entertained by him. Any time inbetween 11-2 is good though. I think you'd like it if you gave it a try. Look up Ed Schultz on the web if you can't get him in town. He's the closest you'll ever get to common sense on the radio. It's actually a really good show... Even ann coulter her/himself said Schultz was the only liberal she could listen to. Air America's bankruptcy is unfortunate, but it's more the fault of people like Franken that make it uninteresting and headline their broadcasts inbetween great shows that could be really successful. (i lost my itrip for my ipod, so i've been listening to the radio a lot lately)
Stephanie Miller: hilarious
Ed Schultz: straight talk from the heartland, very entertaining and moderate.
Randi Rhodes: firecracker, borderline insane but extremely educated.

Don't attack them until you give them a try. I listen to air america and conservative radio and AA is a superior broadcasting network hands down. That's why this is so hard to believe.

I didn't attack them. I've never listened, so I have no opinion.

If the views they were espousing were universally popular, though, they'd not be going out of business.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. I know you're not attacking them per se but you posted it because you're under the impression that they're liberal wingbats. They're not, they're actually really good, and especially schultz. He's great, you can't not like him. I think it has a lot more to do with poor management and poor internal business decisions than anything else.
